After a thorough renovation of the building, the museum has been given a thorough restyling and now bears the name Koers.<\/p>\n<p>One more reason for every cycling lover to visit this museum!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vintagefiets.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/vintagefiets-museum-Koers-Roeselare-e1554052355336.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1285 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vintagefiets.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/vintagefiets-museum-Koers-Roeselare-e1554052355336.jpg\" alt=\"museum Koers museum Roeselare\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vintagefiets.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/vintagefiets-museum-Koers-Roeselare-e1554052355336.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.vintagefiets.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/vintagefiets-museum-Koers-Roeselare-e1554052355336-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The previous destination, the Paterskerk and accompanying exhibition <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vintagefiets.be\/en\/expo-koers-is-religie-in-kerk-van-roeselare\/\">Koers is Religie<\/a>, was (unfortunately) only temporary and can therefore no longer be seen.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Themes Koers Roeselare<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The museum is divided into 3 parts, namely<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the bicycle collection<\/li>\n<li>the cycling collection<\/li>\n<li>the documentary collection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>The bicycle collection<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In the bicycle collection you get an overview of almost 200 years of the history and evolution of the bicycle. You can also read this explanation on the panels hung on the sidewalls of the hall and the bicycles can be admired on the ceiling where they hang.<\/p>\n<p>This room is also used for temporary exhibitions. In a separate room with many trophies, you will see a video about joy and sorrow in the race.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Allez Jempi<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>After visiting this room, you descend to the 1st floor where you are immediately confronted with the tragic death of Jean Pierre <strong>Jempi<\/strong> Monser\u00e9. After all, this highly talented cyclist who died in his jersey of world champion in 1971 during a race in Retie was from Roeselare.<\/p>\n<p>This tragic event and his career are extensively exposed with interviews of family and fellow cyclists.
