The most successful model of the historic bicycle brand Colnago is certainly the Master. Introduced in 1983, the Master has been a protagonist in cycling races for years and led to the victory of the greatest champions such as Giuseppe Saronni, Erik Breukink, Eric Vanderaerden, Maurizio Fondriest, Pavel Tonkov, Johan Museeuw, etc.<\/p>\n

The main feature of the Colnago Master was the specific frame, built with Gilco Design's famous hexagonal Columbus tubes, which made the bike lighter and more resistant.<\/p>\n

\"Edwig<\/a>The model shown here is part of the Andre Haak collection and is a Colnago Master Pi\u00f9 of the former Belgian cyclist Edwig \u201cEddy Bosberg\u201d Van Hooydonck when he rode for the Dutch team Buckler - Colnago - Decca from Jan Raas in 1991.<\/p>\n

In that year Edwig won his second Ronde Van Vlaanderen, his second Brabantse Pijl, the Grand Prix La Marseillaise, GP Lib\u00e9ration and Schaal Sels.<\/p>\n

This bike has come back to life thanks to an original frame by Van Hooydonck that the owner was able to buy from an ex-mechanic from the Buckler team.<\/p>\n

It is clear from the size of the frame that this bike belonged to Edwig Van Hooydonck, which was 1.90 m long. At that time, all bicycles were custom-made for the riders.<\/p>\n

The bike already has the Precisa front fork, introduced by Colnago in 1989 and has been reassembled with all original components, namely the beautiful Suntour Superbe Pro group.<\/p>\n

At that time, this brand was able to compete with Shimano and Campagnolo and there was still no question of Sram.<\/p>\n
