The 90's: the success thanks to Miguel Indurain and Team Telekom

Success finally came in the late 1980s with Pedro Delgado's win with the Team Reynolds in the 1988 Tour de France. This team later became Banesto, which Miguel Indurain was part of, whose name will be inextricably linked to Pinarello in the 1990s. The Pinarello brand has now been definitively launched in the bicycle industry.

After sponsoring the cycling team Banesto, Fausto decides in 1996 to invest in a small German team that finds it difficult to find a new sponsor after the collaboration with Eddy Merckx ends: Team Telekom. It is an instant hit. The same year Bjarne Riis wins the Tour de France and his young lieutenant Jan Ullrich becomes 2nd in the final ranking. The following year, Team Telekom again wins the Tour de France with this time Jan Ullrich.

At the end of the 90s Pinarello also sponsors the Fassa Bortolo team that will win a lot of victories in the next 5 years including Milan Sanremo, the Tour of Lombardy and a lot of stages in the Giro d'Italia, the Vuelta d'espagna and the Tour de France thanks to the top sprinter Alessandro Petacchi.

The team only existed for 5 years and many talented riders started their careers here: Michele Bartoli, Fabian Cancellara, Alessandro Petacchi, Juan Antonio Fleccha and Ivan Basso.

2000: an important decade in the development of Pinarello

Pinarello continues to sponsor cycling teams such as Caisse d'Epargne and Movistar, until 2013, these teams will originate from Banesto, which will end sponsorship in 2003.

In the following years, Pinarello begins to produce successful models every two years, the most revolutionary are:

Dogma Magnesium: in 2002 the 1st bicycle entirely of magnesium, is made. From then on the name Dogma stands for the top of the range of Pinarello racing bicycles.

De PRINCE Carbon: a model that is immediately awarded with the title of best bike in the world and is still being produced.

Dogma 60.1: 2 years later, Pinarello designs the world's first asymmetric bicycle, the DOGMA 60.1, a revolution in the bicycle industry.

2010: Collaboration with Team Sky

In 2010 Pinarello starts a partnership with the new Team Sky that wants to build a team in 5 years to win the Tour de France. It is a new success story and after 2 years Sir Bradley Wiggins already wins the Tour de France in 2012 on a Pinarello bicycle.

Second in the final ranking is Chris Froome who wins his first Tour the following year, bringing the Tour victories for Pinarello to 10.

In addition, Mark Cavendish of team Sky wins the Road World Championship in 2011, the 1st time for Pinarello. 2 years later, the Portuguese Rui Costa takes the world title in Florence in Italy on a Pinarello Dogma.

At the end of 2014, the Pinarello Dogma F8 is presented and once again it was a revolution in the cycling world. The bicycle was developed in collaboration with Team SKY and Jaguar. In terms of aerodynamics, weight and performance, the Dogma F8 is a milestone in Pinarello's history and growth.

The Dogma F8, winner of the London Design Award and Best Bike of the World, is considered the king in the top segment of road bikes.

2015 is another great year. It starts with Bradley Wiggins' hour record in London on the Pinarello Bolide HR covering a distance of 54,526km and the 11th Tour de France victory on a Dogma F8, confirming that the Dogma was born to win.

Successes continue with another Tour victory in 2016 thanks to Chris Froome and Team Sky. At the Rio Olympics, Elia Viviani wins the gold medal for the Omnium on the track.

In 2017, a new generation of Dogma had been launched: Dogma F10 which will immediately be a huge success with victories in Milan San Remo, Strade Bianche, Paris-Nice and on July 23 the victory in the Tour de France with Chris Froome. The brand Cicli Pinarello becomes thus the most successful brand in the history of the Grande Boucle.

Still in 2017, Pinarello presents a renewed range with advanced models: Dogma F10 X-Light, Dogma F10 Disk, Dogma K10 and Dogma K10S Disk, the first racing bike with intelligent suspension.

The success story of Team Sky with Pinarello does not stop because they also won the Tour de France in 2018 and 2019: Geraint Thomas in 2018 and the new talent Egan Bernal in 2019.

In 2019 Sky has stopped sponsoring and Chemistry giant Ineos is the new sponsor, but the future looks bright with yet another Dogma: Dogma F12 that weighs even lighter than its predecessor and is even more aerodynamic.
